John was in need of social media images that were on brand, so, we captured a slew of portrait photos that captured his personality so he could leverage them on his Twitter, Facebook and Instagram feeds, as well as his other branded marketing efforts.
“I met John through who else, the king of relationships, Ted Rubin. Ted mentioned to me that John had a new take on the tired headshot and wanted to see if I would be interested in doing a lifestyle portrait session with him. As Ted and I were starting a new company, it was a perfect opportunity with regards to timing.
John and I exchanged an email and then jumped on the phone to prep. John laid out his approach and it was great. I was traveling to New York the next week and has just had a great experience with the staff at The Renwick Hotel and arranged to use their lobby at a non-peak time for a shoot. John fully prepped me for the types of shots he was thinking and also for the outfits and props I would need. He already had good insights because he had done his homework reading some of my articles and researching my background.
The session couldn’t have been smoother because we were really prepared thanks to John. In about an hour and a half, he had completed over 400 shots in 4 different outfits and a variety of settings in the Renwick lobby. We then spent mourned 30 minutes going through and choosing around 125 photos for John to edit. Easy peasy! John then delivered the library of photos to me the next day and I now have a huge archive of photos to use for all of my various publishing needs.
I highly recommend John as his concept is perfection for any entrepreneur or business person looking to create a great portfolio that doesn’t scream “I’m an old-school, dinosaur company person.” Additionally, John is a great guy to have a beer with! ”
