Why commit to a daily social post strategy?
Post everyday to my social media platforms... ::sigh::
When I first decided to commit to daily social posting along with a 3 blog per week schedule, I thought I was in over my head…
...actually, I thought I was out of my mind!
Where the hell was all this content going to come from?
It took me a couple weeks to warm up to the idea and a lot of coaxing from my inner circle of trusted mentors and colleagues.
Although my initial instinct was that this was a recipe for disaster, it actually has turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
How so?
Well, it’s pretty simple - by forcing myself to sit down daily and create meaningful content for my social media platforms that addressed client pain points with respect to their image content, it has essentially forced me to be better at what I do on every level.
The ideas for all this content has to come from somewhere, so, I tuned in my attention more to my clients needs by engaging their content on social.
Reading, researching, asking questions and just taking a ton of notes.
As a result, I have vastly improved my effectiveness at communicating - in person and in my writing - who I serve, how I do it and why.
I am a far more active listener than I have ever been in my life.
Consequently, I am much more in tune with client needs, concerns and desires.
This has led to far more successful sessions that have produced the diversity and versatility that clients need in their high-volume, image libraries.
By building my own sizable, digital content footprint on my social media platforms that I add to daily, I’ve created my own unique brand of thought leadership in the lifestyle portrait space, and, as such, am more confident as seeing myself as the expert that I am.
Not a bad trade-off if you ask me, :)
If I knew the benefits of committing to this level of content creation, I wouldn’t have had such a hard time convincing myself of how important and necessary it actually is to post daily to my social media platforms.
And that’s why I want to share my story with you.
For those of you who don’t post consistently to your social media platforms, you are missing out on an amazing amount of intangible benefits that reach far beyond the words that you attach to your posts and blog submissions.
This process transforms you into a more informed and well-rounded thought leader and helps to consistently sharpen your blade of knowledge in your area of expertise.
Because of this commitment, your tribe will greatly benefit from this process in a multitude of ways, which ultimately, is the goal, :)
What are your thoughts on consistently posting content for your tribe?
