Go above and beyond the basic portrait
Go above and beyond basic portrait images....
They'll serve you well, :)
As a thought leader looking to create immense impact, It's not enough to post portrait images of you looking pretty while staring directly into the camera - that's not sharing enough of your process, passion and purpose with your followers.
In order to not only endear yourself to them, but also educate and inspire, it's important to mix up your visual imagery — traditional portrait images where you're staring directly into camera, yes, but, also lifestyle photos capturing you while creating the magic you do, :)
These lifestyle portraits provide that fly-on-the-wall, behind-the-scenes vibe that allow the viewer to feel like they're in the room with you, which allows them to feel like they're part of the process.
For example, I was recently cruising around my Facebook newsfeed and came across an ad posted by one of my clients, Tricia - a director, choreographer and dancer.
She's also a podcast host - which is why we prepared to capture a bunch of portraits of her podcasting during her branded portrait session.
Although we captured a myriad portrait images of her in action, the one she chose for the ad below works seamlessly with the copy and quote she added:
As a viewer of this image, doesn't it feel like you're in the room with her...that being said, we should probably keep it down as she's recording, :)
