See a Speaker in her native habitat

Watching a speaker at the top of her game is inspiring.

Especially when that speaker is a portrait client, :)

I’ll be the first to admit that I love to fanboy out when I see one of my clients speaking from the stage.

Yup, I'm pretty biased about it and I don't give a shit, :)

Ultimately, this is where they get to impart their expertise to an audience that is just as passionate about hearing what they have to say.

That’s why I was excited when a client of mine, Chinwe, asked me to snap some candid portraits of her speaking at a conference that she was both MC’ing and participating in a panel discussion.

In the interest of full disclosure, I did get very lost on what they were discussing. I

I mean, I’m not a lawyer and I haven’t a clue about anti-bribery laws...

...but, I do have a clue about what it means to be dedicated and passionate about your work.

As I captured photos of Chinwe speaking from the podium and engaging her fellow panelists, her passion and conviction for what she does and believes was fairly obvious from the moment she opened her mouth.

It was written all over her face through her expression and the way she talked with her hands.

Even though she couldn't telepathically explain to me all of the high-level tactics, strategies and procedures she was discussing aloud. I believed what she said simply by how she was conveying her message.

And this is a quality that you definitely want to convey in candid images of you speaking from the stage.

Because these images will be seen by your potential clients, and that's the type of sentiment you want them with which to walk away:

I handed her quite a pile of images that she can not only leverage for her website, but, she now has speaker photos that she can intermingle with the branded lifestyle portraits we’ve already captured.

She now has a well-rounded, image content portfolio to visually punctuate all of the stories that she wants to share about her business, thought leadership and life.

And that makes me feel all warm, fuzzy and magical inside, :)

Have you been getting candid photos taken of you from the stage during your talks?  If not, it might be time to really invest in that option.

Before your next scheduled talk, have a chat with the organizers and see if they will have a professional photographer on hand to capture you being the badass that you are in front of the room!

If you find out that there will be no photographer, hire one on your own - these images deeply resonate with your followers and are worth the effort.

And plus, I know a guy I can suggest to you to take care of those pictures for ya, :)

Schedule a time to chat with me and let’s see if we’re a fit to work together, :)

PS - For those of you who aren’t in the know, I mail out these blogs 3x a week, and lemme tell you, they’re a real party, so, if you’d like to get in on this, sign up for it here and I’ll throw in a free gift for you, because I care, :)
