Give thanks

It’s that time of year again to pause and give thanks.

Who are you grateful for in your life?

As we’ve reached Thanksgiving eve, no doubt you’re scrambling to wrap up work before the holiday weekend.

In the midst of gearing up to travel to family or friends, take a second to pause and think about what’s going right in your world and who is responsible for helping keep you on the path of progress.

Who are these people in your business and life?

And, when was the last time you showed your appreciation to them?

Perhaps a phone call is in order?

Let them know you acknowledge their help and appreciate their friendship.

On my end, I want to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to some people who’ve brought some sunshine into my life.

You.

The people who read these articles week in and week out.

5 years ago when the idea of writing 3 blogs a week was put into my head by a colleague, I thought the guy was out of his mind suggesting that a photographer pump out so much content.

Who would read all that shit?

Well apparently, some of you do.

Over this past year, I’ve noticed an uptick in emails sent to me by subscribers who thank me for sharing insights and strategies surrounding visual storytelling.

They also thank me for sharing my own personal stories - some a bit more vulnerable and introspective than others.

So I want to thank you for finding value in the words that I share with you 13 times a month, and to give me the space to share my deepest thoughts and insecurities.

I never thought that I’d find as much joy in sharing my art, heart and soul with an audience in this way, but it has become a cathartic exercise that adds value to us folks on both sides of the conversation.

I’m grateful for your attention, psyched that you see the value in implementing what we talk about here, and look forward to continuing the ride down the path together.

Thank you for being you.

I hope your Thanksgiving celebration tomorrow - regardless of how you celebrate and with whom - is one that fills your cup and gets you excited to end the year strong.
