Build trust without ever having a conversation
Your image content is a digital introduction to those who’ve never met you
Make sure you say hello in a way that befits your personality.
What does your image content say about you - who you are, who you serve, and why you do what you do?
Don’t think that it needs to say anything, and you just need to look presentable?
Think again, my friends.
How about we approach this question from your point of view.
When you’re looking up people on social that you want to work with, refer clients to or just start a conversation, what’s the first thing you notice?
Their profile photo.
Now, do you draw conclusions from that profile photo?
Mmm hmmm, so do I.
What if they don’t have a profile photo or any photos for that matter? Does it cause you to think about whether or not you want to pursue a conversation with that person?
If you’re anything like me, it #yeahabsolutely does (sorry, had to do that, lol).
Why create barriers for those who want to communicate with you?
This point was reinforced when I sat down with my client, colleague, and Feng Shui maestro, Kate MacKinnon.
She shared her thoughts on the power of posting image content that’s authentic to her:
If you ever expect to create a memorable and referable online presence, you need to establish trust with those you serve.
While trust building is not an exact science, what is known is that image content that captures your essence goes a long way in attracting those who not only need your help the most, but also vibe with what you’re putting out into the world.
Keep that in mind the next time you’re looking to update your image coent. Work with a photographer who has the ability to capture these types of images for your content portfolio.
