While there’s more than one way to skin a cat...

...there’s a better way for you and your clients.

I was using my Chromebook the other day after it auto-updated, and I noticed in the top-right corner of the browser a black circle with a triangle.

What the hell is this thing? Curiosity inspired me to click and find out.

Turns out it’s another browser shortcut to switch between open tabs:

My initial thought questioned why they would add this function since there’s several simple ways to already achieve the same goal. I mean, couldn’t they have spent time developing something more innovative that isn’t currently addressed in the browser?

And then, I thought, well, they didn’t create this distinct option for me.

While I keep a few tabs open on my browser at one time, I know that there are a slew of folks who tab hoard with dozens of them open at all times...and you know who you are :)

They’re gonna find this functionality a solution to one of their challenges of quickly navigating the minefield of pages they have open and totally eat this shit up.

While this new function doesn’t speak to me specifically, it definitely serves a wonderful purpose for many.

So why bring this up?

For expert business owners, it’s essential to create distinction from other authorities in your space who offer a similar promise of transformation.

That distinction is rooted in your experiences, frameworks, deliverables and capped off by your personality.

By creating this distinction, that will inevitably turn people away because it doesn’t feel like you’re a fit to solve their problem for one reason or another.

On the other hand, it also will represent a shining light at the end of the tunnel for many others because your approach, style and personality draws them right in.

So what’s the moral of the story?

Don’t be afraid to present yourself as the unique “browser tab option” that you know you are - lean into it :)

If you try to be everything for everyone, you’ll be invisible.

Remember, it’s your job to become visible to those who need you most, and you do it by being uniquely you :)
