Truth be told, everyone can use a motivational pick-me-up from time to time. 

Whether we’re dragging our asses through a slog of a week or just feeling a little off because - well, just because - sometimes a word, phrase or sentence can help pull our emotional state back up to or slightly past neutral. 

But, I tend to shy away from many of the cliches that are slung around the inter webs like hotcakes. I generally refer to them as fortune cookie wisdom.

I know, look at me, perched firmly atop judgement mountain, right? 

Okay, fair - fortune cookie wisdom might be a bit harsh - but I still don’t have to like them, okay!

Regardless, when I’m looking for some motivational words of wisdom, I need look no further than the amazing folks that I serve. 

Recently, I’ve photographed a wide assortment of books, and in particular, the insightful and inspirational phrases, quotes and passages within these books. 

In most cases, the reason why these specific words were photographed was because as I thumbed through the pages to source interesting content to photograph, they immediately stood out and deeply resonated with me on a level beyond the work itself. 

So, rather than hold these magical words all to myself, I’d like to share some of them with you in the hopes that they resonate with you and help put a little extra pep in your step:
