"(The Pre-Session Strategy Call) turned on some lights."

Before you show up for a photography session…

…make sure that you have a well-placed strategy to ensure amazing results!

One of the biggest mistakes that speakers, authors and coaches make when investing in a portrait session is that they simply assume magic is going to happen the moment they show up to a location with a photographer.

Nah, doesn’t work that way, folks!

It takes strategy, pre-planning and a lot of conversation between photographer and client in order to create magical results.

Could you wing it and maybe get lucky? Of course, but ask yourself this question:

Do you wing it in other aspects of your business? Or, do you put in the work to make sure you get the results you want?

Exactly.

You shouldn’t wing something that is a foundational element to your online marketing strategy.

In addition to having a well-structured plan going into the session, all of the strategy talk beforehand will help you also uncover a lot of interesting wrinkles and nuances about yourself and your business that you can leverage in your content that will help create connection and rapport with your audience.

Or, as my client, Luis, a cigar accessory merchant, said during our recent conversation, “It turned on some lights.”

In addition to discussing the strategy calls that happened before his branded lifestyle portrait session, I also talked to Luis about some other topics:

  • The importance of building relationships through his online presence

  • His experience going through the branded lifestyle portrait session

  • Why he felt the need to include lifestyle portraits of him sketching and creating collages

  • Why should other cigar professionals invest in professional lifestyle portraits.

After listening to this conversation, did a lightbulb go off in your head and get you thinking about your own image content portfolio? Is it time to update it and fill it with images that truly present who you are, who you serve and why you do what you do?

I’m here to help.
