Make it work...

Sometimes, the magic of a branding photo session isn’t about having a wardrobe full of outfit changes, but about getting creative with what you’ve got.

During a recent session with Judson Laipply, we had a bit of a challenge on our hands. He brought just two shirts and two jackets with him for his 60-minute session.

For many, this might seem like a limitation, but it was an opportunity to maximize the variety within those constraints.

The good news is that there’s plenty of ways to create visual variety in your photos beyond just changing outfits every 10 seconds:

- Facial Expressions: Your face is one of the most powerful tools in telling your story. By shifting expressions from confident to reflective, or from joyful to authoritative, you can drastically alter the tone of each shot to give your team a wealth of creative latitude.

- Body Language: Naturally changing up the way you position your body can create a whole different vibe in the photos, helping convey various aspects of your personality.

- Location Changes: Moving to stand, sit or lean on a wall in one area of the space to another, whether it’s a different room or just a different angle within the same space, can make each photo feel special.

- Black and White Images: Sometimes, stripping away color adds depth and emotion to an image that color might not capture as well, and help offer more creative options on the back end.

- Post-Production Adjustments: With some salt and pepper sprinkled on top in Photoshop, you can even change the color and pattern of the shirt in post-production to create the illusion of variety.

If you ever find yourself with limited outfit options during a photo session, don’t stress.

Keep these insights in mind and remember that a paid professional branding photographer can turn even the simplest wardrobe into a gallery of diverse and impactful images.

Let’s make it work, regardless of the circumstances!
