Don't speak...

I know you’re a speaker…

…but you don't need to speak in every photo you share.

When shooting masterminds, workshops and other types of in-person facilitations, I spend a lot of time focusing on capturing participants as they ask questions and engage other participants.

These are dynamic images that show them in another environment, which can lead to multiple opportunities to leverage these images across their entire online presence.

And, on many occasions, I’ve seen participants use these photos in social posts, whether as a standalone photo or part of a video.

But, those aren’t the only photos that can be leveraged from this experience.

High-quality and candid photos where you’re listening to the facilitator share an interesting insight, absorbing the learnings and writing or typing them down are valuable visual assets, as well.

Conceptually, these types of photos illustrate your intention for growth.

Practically, they exhibit a wide range of emotive qualities that can visually punctuate the sentiment of a wide range of stories that you share in your social posts and articles.

And, depending on the composition of the photo, you can add text and graphics to the shot, or even have your designer cut you out of the frame and add it to a different background.

Essentially, these types of photos can be used in the same way that your team leverages your portraits and lifestyle portraits, as long as the type of shot and emotive quality compliment the specific project.

Long story short, when skimming through a portfolio of images taken where you participated in a mastermind or workshop, don’t simply download the smiling shots and ones where you’re speaking.

The ones where your mouth is shut and you’re listening and taking notes have value in your portfolio, as well.
