...I think those words cover all the holidays, right, :)

As we enter the final week of 2019, the festivus of holidays are upon us.

Today is Christmas Day, also known as the day that everyone finds out whether they scored major points or dropped the ball based on the gifts they bought for their friends and family.

Hopefully, everyone is satisfied with their bounty of presents - save for a random ugly sweater or pair of socks that you want to return to the store immediately, :)

Today also marks the 4th day of Hanakkah. I hope those who observe the magical festival of lights also finds themselves positively overwhelmed by an 8-day barrage of amazing and wonderful gifts.

But, the biggest takeaway that I wish for everyone is that they enjoy the company of those they love, respect and admire because, as cheesy as this may sound, it’s the relationships in our lives that provide the greatest gifts of all.

Underneath my expletive-laden and tough love exterior is a mushy, cuddly teddy bear who always appreciates a good hug, what can I tell you? :)

The best part about spending quality time with others is that it doesn’t involve bum rushing a department store looking for deals or waiting on ridiculously long lines to return the shit that you don’t want.

It simply involves being available and present to those you love.

And that’s the best part of the holidays - experiences with those that matter to you most.

In this day and age of mass consumerism, I believe that message often gets lost in a sea of bullshit commercials that create massive FOMO for products that will be pushed off to the side amd forgotten by mid-February.

The real FOMO, however, revolves around spending those precious moments with those that ultimately won’t be around forever.

Keep that in mind as we wrap up the year over the next week.

I wish you nothing but the happiest of holiday seasons, a healthy and prosperous new year, and all that good shit, :)

Enjoy yourselves - you’ve earned it.
