"...made me feel comfortable..."
It’s always a cool experience when you end up collaborating with someone you’ve followed for a bit, and they didn’t even know it.
What can I say, I stalk in the shadows from time-to-time 🙂
When I first started photographing books, I searched for experts in the author space to follow and get a better sense of what I was getting myself into.
One of the first suggested accounts to follow was BookThinkers, and so I did.
The first thought I had when working through the book reviews was amazement - I mean, this guy reads a lot of stuff to be able to do this!
The following thought was inspiration - this guy really puts in the work to create valuable content for his audience!
And when I met him in person at a conference, my next thought was excitement at the prospect of working with him because he’s a really cool dude.
And recently, the time to create magic together finally happened. I flew up to Boston to capture some portraits of the man behind Book Thinkers, Nick Hutchison.
After spending 2 hours rolling around on his lovely wood floors, we created an arsenal of visual assets that he can use throughout his online presence…
…while sipping on some delicious coffee he made for me :)
Here’s what Nick had to say about the experience:
“I had a wonderful time working with John! As an author, I felt it was important to invest in some headshots, full body portraits and some lifestyle photography for my personal brand and business.
John came highly recommended and lived up to the hype! He was a ton of fun to work with, reasonably priced, and made me feel comfortable. I would totally recommend working with John!”
Thanks for the kind words, Nick - it was a good time playing in the sandbox with you, my friend. I’m looking forward to some one-on-one, #bookboudoir time with your book when it’s ready!
Over to you…
If you’re an author and are gearing up to launch your book out into the world, set up a time to chat with me to see how I can help you with that process.
Let’s see if we’re a fit to create magic together.
