...with Machete-like precision - don’t worry this will make sense by the end of the article :)

As an expert-based business owner, you have many aspects to your business - speaker, author, consultant, and/or trainer - and each of those areas have a unique look and feel to them.

Some of them are presented in person. Others virtually. And others are in printed or online video form.

Regardless of how you package and offer your expertise through your intellectual property, those aspects need to be captured in photographs in their native forms.

Why?

It allows your audience to preview the experience of what working with you looks like, whether it’s in person, over the phone, on a screen or printed in a book or manual.

Telling your audience how you can help is one thing…

...but showing them what it looks like to work with you in the moment is quite another.

The key is consistency in the artistry and visual variety, regardless of the photo.

Now, could you simply hire individual photographers on an as-needed basis to capture your lifestyle portrait session, virtual photography, book photography and live events?

Absolutely.

But, here’s the thing.

Every photographer has his or her own vision and artistry when they work through the lens.

That itself is not the problem.

The problem arises when you leverage image content throughout your online presence that looks and feels different from shot-to-shot.

The work - portraits, live event shots, virtual photos, etc - in silos might look amazing, in fact!

But your online presence is not shared through a series of silos - each touchpoint works in concert with each other.

And when your goal is to present yourself as the go-to expert in your space, consistency is key - including consistency in your visual storytelling elements.

As a result, my suggestion is to collaborate with a photographer who can capture all of the marketing elements that you need that illustrates all of the ways you serve those who need you.

Your secret weapon to creating compelling and persuasive image content is a Swiss-Army-Knife photographer who shoots with machete-like precision (see, I told you it would make sense!)

They are able to translate their skill in capturing moments that matter in their client’s lives to in person and virtual moments.

Whether you need a new headshot, photos of your virtual masterclass, a series of lifestyle portraits to promote an upcoming webinar, or photos to help promote the pre-launch of your book, or behind-the-scenes and stage photos of your in-person keynote, everything they shoot is visually consistent with a high-level of production value.

Just imagine how much easier it will be for you and your team knowing that regardless of the situation or event, you have your photographer already on board, ready to go.

The cherry on top?

The more you work with one person, the better they get to know you…

...and the better they know you, the work improves with each and every shutter click.

This is why I have multiple, recurring, expert clients who come in periodically for a fresh set of lifestyle photos and other image content. It maintains the continuity of the look of their entire online presence.

Well that and they particularly enjoy how much shit I talk behind the camera, but that’s another story entirely :)
