"We look worth it."
Your photos help position your value to those you serve.
They help them realize that you’re worth the investment.
After every lifestyle portrait session, I sit down with my clients and review every single photo taken during our time together.
During this review and select phase, I’ll usually hear a wide variety of not-so-lovely reactions to the images:
“Ugh, my face looks terrible…”
“Oh no, my shirt doesn’t fit right…”
“My mouth looks weird…”
“No way I’d use that photo…”
This is to be expected as not every photo is a winner for one reason or another. It’s why we weed out the crap from the magic together :)
While this is certainly a part of the process, those negative comments are counterbalanced and are far outweighed by positive reactions, as well.
The other day during a lifestyle portrait session, a reaction was shared that I hadn’t heard before that deeply resonated with me:
“We look worth it.”
As we reviewed a series of looking-into-the-camera portraits with a wife and husband taken in their dining room, I heard one of them share this really interesting takeaway.
When I asked them why, they shared that it was a combination of factors:
Their staging and positioning at the reflective, cherrywood table
The outfits they were wearing
The imaginative angles of the photos
And, the expression and body language that I helped bring out of them through direction.
In terms of the overall sentiment of the photos, they felt they looked confident and relaxed, with a knowing and welcoming vibe.
They concluded the thought by saying that they weren’t used to seeing this combination of impressions in a promotional photo before.
While they might not have been used to seeing themselves like this, it is, in fact, the goal of every single lifestyle portrait session.
And it’s exactly what you need to help promote your speaker, trainer, author, consultant and other expert-based business.
You have a wealth of experience.
You share your expertise in a variety of ways with those you serve.
Your time is of premium importance and the cost of your products and services reflect this value.
In order to develop relationships with your audience to the point that they trust you enough to spend money on you helping them solve their problems, you need to look like you’re worth it.
Because you are.
That’s why it’s essential you invest in a series of premium photos in order to capture your audience's attention, spark their curiosity enough for them to go down the rabbit hole to learn more about how you can help.
After all, you’re worth the effort :)
