It's no secret that not everyone who sets foot in front of my camera is totally jazzed to be there.
For some people, having their lifestyle portraits taken is on their list of priorities right beneath having four root canals performed on the same day.
I get it - it's one gigantic mirror propped up in front of you where every perceived imperfection is magnified 1000x for everyone to see.
For some clients who have severe anxiety when thinking about their upcoming portrait session, I employ a healthy and effective mixture of empathy, tough love and positive psychology.
Sure, I bust their chops a bit, but, you know, that's all in good fun, :)
But more importantly, there is one specific intervention that I learned while enrolled in an applied positive psychology course that I leverage all the time. Not just for my nervous clients, but for ME!
