It's not just a shirt...
It’s not just a shirt.
It’s a conscious choice, a way of life - a life worth living.
The events of the past few months have been an endless series of gut punches to our nation.
We’ve learned in this time that many of our governmental systems are full of flaw and rot and need to be fixed in order to cater to the needs of ALL of us that live and breathe under this flag.
We all need to recalibrate, learn from our mistakes and help rebuild in our own special way.
And the first place to start is with ourselves.
Recently, I was scrolling through my social feed and came across my colleague, Scott Perry, sharing a photo of him wearing the shirt that you see me wearing above.
The message, “Make America Create Again” couldn’t have been shared at a more appropriate time.
It resonates with me so deeply, and reminds me that one of the ways to enact true change locally and in the grand scheme, is that I, WE, must create that chance.
And the answer for all of us is not the same, but the way we choose to answer that call serves one common goal.
To make the world better.
And there’s no better time than now to reflect and refine who we are, who we serve and why we do what we do.
For me, to create is to be able to leverage my undying passion for capturing the magic of those I serve with my camera so that they can be discovered by those who need to hear what they have to say the most.
It’s why I serve speakers and trainers who educate those on a wide variety of topics: wellness, diversity and inclusion, mindset, connection, resilience, leadership, among countless other essential areas of expertise.
Simply put, when they share their knowledge and experiences, it makes people better.
And those they serve are then free to create a life they’re proud of living.
Never at any time has my intention of serving those who make people better been reinforced than at this time in my life.
My intention moving forward is to work at being better at collaborating and creating with these awesome human beings in order for their messages of change and hope to be spread out into the world.
I’m not a healer.
I’m not a legislator.
I’m a supporter.
And I’m a creator.
This is my calling, the way that I contribute in a positive way to our society. And it’s a calling that I am extremely grateful that I heard loud and clear a few years ago.
And I won’t stop hearing it until they put me into the ground with my camera cemented to my hands.
This is how I will help America create again.
