Hmmm, should you open this e-mail? #yeahabsolutely

#yeahabsolutely is the new black, :)

Something very interesting was pointed out to me very recently.

I was speaking with colleague and social media magician, Donna Cravotta, and she mentioned to me that when we’re in flow strategizing about content creation or even during her branded lifestyle portrait  session, I use the phrase, "yeah absolutely," quite often.

She then suggested that since I do use it quite abundantly, it should be one of my personal hashtags.

When she first brought it up, I was a little confused since I never really noticed it.  And then, I’d hear a piece of a podcast and the yeah absolutely references would show up; I’d hear myself talk with a client over the phone, and yeah absolutely would randomly pop out; I distinctly heard myself saying yeah absolutely 4-5 times during a recent session.

Based on my dedication to personal development, t’s no surprise that yeah absolutely has subconsciously made its way into my professional vernacular.

Just a few years ago, that phrase wasn’t exactly rolling off my tongue.

You see, for the first 35 years of my life, I was pretty miserable.

I was extremely negative, judgemental, pessimistic and anxious.  And, not surprisingly, I said a lot of no's during that time.

I passed a lot on personal and professional opportunities due to fear of new challenges and leaving my comfort zone for uncharted territories.  I’d use backwards logic to talk myself out of amazing chances at growth.

I had zero goals and, even worse, no sense of purpose to hang my hat on. I was simply pushing through each day by the momentum of my routines.

To make matters worse, I was an artist that wasn't challenging myself creatively, and that alone was rapidly crushing my spirit.

And then, in August 2014, i had had enough - I quit my job and started my own business.

And no, it was not happily ever after.

For the first year and a half, all of my fears and anxieties were on the highest alert that they’ve ever been - panic, sleepless nights, complete and total shutdown of any productivity whatsoever.

I was a fish out of water, and I was suffocating.

Eventually, I caught my breath, was able to stand without wobbling, and got out into the world and realized the only way I was going to get my shit together was to get my shit together.

This lead me down the path of self-development - first, being  a test client for an Accomplishment Coaching cohort, and now, participating in a certificate course in Applied Positive Psychology.

Being exposed to these programs has been a game changer for me.  I’ve been able to eliminate a lot of negative tendencies and habits, and replaced them with a growth mindset in all aspects of my life.

And, as a result, my default answer is no longer “no,” :)

This is exactly why #yeahabsolutely couldn’t be a more befitting hashtag to represent the direction of my business, brand and life.

Who would’ve ever thought that a simple hashtag like #yeahabsolutely would mean so much?

Do you have a personalized hashtag? If so, what does it represent to you?
