Your visual presence is doing more work than you think.
The question is whether it's working for you or against you.
People decide who you are in their gut before their brain catches up. That decision gets made on what they see, and you're never in the room when it happens.
You’ve looked at your own photos, your own site, your own everything so many times you can’t see it anymore. You can still feel when something’s off, but you can’t name what it is or how to fix it.
And nobody ever taught you how to look at this, or why it’s important.
Spoiler alert: you don’t have to keep guessing your way through this. Keep reading…
Everyone's stuck somewhere different:
Your photos are disorganized. Finding the right image takes forever, so you use the same three photos to death.
A shoot is coming. You don’t know what to ask for, so you risk walking away with pretty pictures that don’t say much about you.
The content is written. But it’s still sitting there because you can’t find the right image for what you’re trying to say.
The photo exists. But a week later, it’s buried a thousand shots deep in your camera roll and effectively gone.
And if you're repositioning or leveling up, what's online is still selling the old version of you.
See the three ways we work together.
“I had all of these great images and yet didn’t know how or where to apply them. John gave me a newfound way of looking at my pictures and helped me close gaps I hadn’t known how to fix.”
Think you just need new photos? Ehhh…
Sometimes you do. But buying another shoot before you know what you actually need is an expensive way to find out.
The photos may already exist. They may be buried, doing the wrong job in the wrong place, or representing a version of the business you’ve already outgrown. The better question:
What does your visual presence need to accomplish for where your business is now and where you’re trying to take it?
“This wasn’t about better photos. It was about clarity. John helped me identify the gaps between my positioning and my visuals, and now every decision is strategic.”
This is where the guessing stops
And most people don’t even know this kind of help exists
That’s where I come in. You get a second set of eyes and a partner in the work.
We pull up the actual stuff: your photos, website, content, speaker materials, whatever is creating the friction.
We figure out what’s working, what’s missing, what belongs where, and what needs to happen next.
And whenever we can, we do the work right there in real time.
No more to-do lists that turn into never-done lists. We work through it together.
What changes:
You stop bleeding money on shoots that net you three usable photos
You walk into every shoot knowing exactly what you need to walk out with
You can name what's working in a photo and why, not just "I like this one"
You show up online the way you actually show up in the room
“John helped me extract the maximum value out of everything in my image bank. I came out with a renewed, high-impact media kit and a clear social media plan. John taught me a whole new way to view and curate my images.”
“John ensures you do not waste time and resources on the wrong things at the wrong time. His strategic underpinnings combined with tactical execution is a unicorn experience.”
So, where do you need to start?
Maybe we need to figure out what’s actually off. Maybe you already know what’s wrong and need a plan. Maybe it’s time to stop talking about it and start fixing the damn problem. Take a look at the options below:
The QUICK Fix
$600
One 90-minute working session.
One problem with your visual presence that needs to get handled.
Something's nagging you and you want to deal with it. Or, during the consultation call, we found something you didn't know was a problem:
You've got a keynote coming and no plan for what gets shot
Your web person keeps picking the wrong images and you can't articulate why
You need one photo for something important and can't find anything that works
We wrestle it to the ground and you leave with it solved. If you want more help within 30 days, the $600 is credited toward whatever you move into next.
The BIG Sweep
$2000
Start with a kickoff call, then four 90-minute working sessions.
This is for when it’s clearly not one thing.
Your business is changing. Your visual presence needs to change with it. There are several things to untangle, and you need enough room to work through them instead of trying to cram everything into one session.
We start with a kickoff call, where I get the lay of the land and we decide what gets handled first
Then, four working sessions, one problem at a time
We schedule these calls based on your urgency and availability
You get the bigger picture handled without turning it into one giant project you keep putting off.
The Long Game
$500 per month
Start with a kickoff call, then one two-hour working session each month under a
12-month agreement.
The business keeps moving, so the visual questions keep coming. A new photo. A new piece of content. A new page. A new event. Something changes, and now you need to decide what belongs where or what needs to happen next.
This is where you get a thought partner for the visual questions that keep coming up, including the ones you didn’t know to ask.
During the kickoff call, I get the lay of the land and we plan what to work on
Then, two hours a month on whatever's most pressing
For most people, that's content, because content never stops
You leave each session with the images picked, the next moves clear, and a running list of what's still missing
Between sessions, send me the visual questions when they come up
Why a year? Because these questions don’t arrive all at once. They show up as the business moves. A year means you have somewhere to bring them without starting from zero every time.
“The way John thinks and sees photos helped me understand which photos would have the biggest impact across my website, LinkedIn, speaker sheet, and online content. I now have a better idea of what pictures are missing from my arsenal. This work is a no-brainer.”
“Our strategy call completely reframed how I think about visual authority. It’s not just about having professional images. It’s about having the right images for the right narrative moments in your business.”
Why me?
I just wanted to take the pictures. I realized, over time, that it wasn’t enough.
Before photography, I was a talk show television producer, where perception gets engineered long before an audience consciously registers it. That's the lens I've brought to this work for over nine years.
In that time, I've delivered over 300,000 images to speakers, authors, coaches, consultants, and founders. Then I watched what happened next. They'd grab three or four favorites, use them everywhere, and leave the rest sitting in a folder.
Honestly, it drove me crazy. My people paid me a premium for work they barely used, and it wasn't because the photos were bad. Nobody had ever shown them what to do with what they had.
So I decided to be the guy who does.
“I didn’t understand what I had. I couldn’t visualize how to use the photos, so they got put away and weren’t part of my daily routine. Now I have the confidence, skills, and next steps to do a better job using what I have.”
“John helped me see my photos through a completely different lens. After our session, I had clear confidence about what to use, where to use it, and why it matters.”
Not sure what you need?
That’s what the consultation call is for.
Tell me what's going on, show me what's bothering you, and tell me where the business is headed. You'll leave knowing what actually needs attention and whether we're a fit to solve it together.
Visual Asset Strategy FAQS
-
Somebody who helps you figure out what your visual presence needs to accomplish and how to use the photos you already have to support it. We look at what’s working, what’s missing, which images make sense for what you’re creating, and what may be worth capturing next. Photographers create the images. A visual authority strategist helps you make smarter decisions about how those images support the business.
-
Neither, necessarily. Most of this work happens with photos you already have. Sometimes new photography is the right answer. Other times the photograph you need already exists and the real problem is finding it, understanding what it gives you to work with, or figuring out where it makes the most sense based on what you’re creating.
-
Brand strategists work on positioning, messaging, audience, and often your visual identity in the broad sense: the colors, the type, the overall feel. That work usually stops before it reaches the actual photographs. Nobody carries the strategy down to which image goes in which spot and why. That's the layer this fills. When another strategist, designer, or web team is involved, I work alongside them.
-
They can and they do. The problem is when they’re handed a giant folder and told to pick something that looks good without enough context. If they understand what you’re trying to communicate, who needs to see it, and what the visual needs to help accomplish, they can make a much stronger choice. If they don’t, they’re guessing.
-
It depends on how far you want to go. Sometimes it's me looking at what you've got and telling you what's off. Sometimes it's mapping what needs to happen next. Sometimes it's working side by side, pulling up your site and swapping images in real time. Every session is recorded and it's yours.
-
An audit hands you a document. This is done with you, on a call, working through your actual assets together. The goal isn't a report you file away. It's that you start seeing your own photos differently, so the decisions you used to get stuck on stop being decisions at all.
-
The Quick Fix is $600 for one 90-minute session, paid up front. The Big Sweep is $2,000 for four working sessions plus an intake call, split into two payments. The Long Game is $500 a month for twelve months, billed monthly with nothing up front.
The first conversation is free either way. That's where we figure out which one fits.
If you start with the Quick Fix and move up within 30 days, that $600 comes off what you owe.
-
Because these questions don't arrive in a batch. They show up one at a time, all year long. A post that needs an image this week, an event next month, a website change in the spring. A year means you always have somewhere to bring it instead of sitting on it. If that's more commitment than you want right now, the Big Sweep is the better fit and there's no shame in it.
-
No. This is for speakers, consultants, coaches, authors, founders, anybody whose reputation brings in the work and whose visual presence is being judged before they get a chance to talk.
