Are you posting on social like a champ or chump?

It all starts with the social media post...

We live in a magical time and place where we have the good fortune of promoting our businesses, brands and thought leadership to a mass audience on a minute-by-minute basis for free.

Thankfully, we’re well past the rotary phone-rolodex-yellow pages days of years gone by! Phew, that would’ve sucked, lol

But, how many of you out there are actually taking advantage of this amazing opportunity?

Judging by the conversations I’ve had recently with a slew of thought leaders and other high-level entrepreneurs, not as many as you would think.

What were their reasons?

The usual - super time consuming, social not their area of expertise, and, the most popular answer - It’s a pain in the ass and it’s easier to just avoid.

I understand where they’re coming from, but, my answer to all of those excuses is the same:

In order to impact those that need your help most, people need to be able to find you first.

It’s your job to engage them with content that illustrates your personality, brand, who you serve and why.

Ideally, this social media post content is a highly-curated, mish-mosh of lifestyle portraits, selfies, text quotes and video clips...and a couple emoji’s thrown in for good measure, :)

Too much of one thing is no bueno in many areas of life, and creating similar social media posts is one of them!

You want to inspire, not bore the hell out of people!

By posting consistently with content that moves people to action, you’re presenting your expertise on a day-by-day basis that will eventually convert casual followers into paid clients, thus, creating a win-win for all involved.

Overwhelm them with reason to believe that your thought leadership is the difference maker that will eliminate their pain points and allow them to live better than they did yesterday.

Despite the logic in my answer, I can always count on someone to answer, “yeah, but…” while eye-rolling the hell out of me!

No one wants to hear that they need to put more work on their plate, especially when it’s not something that adds a lil’ happy spring to their steps.

Try this - if you re-frame the idea of this “work” into the context of helping others on a grander scale with your brand of thought leadership, perhaps that help you commit to the act of being consistent with your posts.

At this point you have 2 choices:

Spend a lot of TIME to read a ton on the subject, learn it yourself, and figure it out as you go.

or

Invest some money and hire an expert to create an action plan for you that not only minimizes your pain in figuring it out yourself, but also shaves off MONTHS, if not YEARS of climbing up the wrong tree.

Either way, whatever gets the social media post ball rolling, make it happen - we are talking about impacting lives, after all, :)
