One is not enough

Much in the same way that one image is not enough to promote yourself online...

...the same can be said for your book.

Why do I need to invest in book photos? Isn’t the cover of the book all I need?

For many authors, launching their new book leads them into uncharted territory with respect to figuring out how to market and promote it.

Oftentimes, they see what others are doing and they simply fall in line and do the same thing.

One common approach is to have the book cover designer send them the digital file of it so they can use it in every single promotional post.

While the cover is an essential way to draw attention to the work, you’re basically using the same image over and over and over again.

And that’s boring as shit!

Much in the same way that you want to offer your audience visual variety with your lifestyle portraits, virtual photos and live event coverage, that also applies doubly to your book.

Why?

You want to provide your audience of potential readers an opportunity to feel the book in their hands through their eyes.

And it’s not simply photos of the cover and spine - it’s the meat and potatoes inside the cover, as well.

Pull quotes, illustrations, chapter titles and other elements found in you book:

This gives potential readers a unique opportunity to preview all of the inspirational and actionable insights found within it’s pages.

It also allows them to visualize actually holding the book in their hands, which is one step closer to them hitting the BUY NOW button. After all, isn’t that the point of a promotional post?

In addition, the ability to share these images cuts through the noise found on social media because they’re visually unique.

Everyone uses the digital book cover image - including the other experts who share your particular space. Create distinction from these folks by sharing book images that beg to be clicked on by those you serve.

Not only will these types of images improve visibility, and ultimately, sales, for your book, but it also contributes to visually positioning you as the authority in your space of expertise.

Keep all of this in mind the next time you’re strategizing the marketing and promotion of your  book.

And, if you’re currently going through that process now, I can certainly help you with that.
