What's your take?
Blanking on what content to share with your audience?
Apply your expertise to the current conversations happening in the industries you serve.
While creating content that resonates with your audience can, undoubtedly, become a challenging proposition, it’s not impossible to deliver.
Why?
The world is constantly changing and evolving, as are the industries in which you serve.
As a result, there are always plenty of topics of conversation available for you on which to comment on a minute-by-minute basis.
Just check your Newsfeed right now…and again in 10 minutes, and notice the brand new shuffle of stories that appear.
While it’s important to share who you are, who you serve, and why you do what you do as background information that helps viewers get a sense of your personality and disposition, they really want to know how you can help solve their problems.
And new problems in their businesses and lives present themselves every single day.
That’s why it’s important for you to stay on top of and comment on current news that directly relates to your audience so you can apply your expertise to show how to solve that friction point.
Your “hot take” is a way for you to illustrate your immediate value to those you serve.
While this may sound like an added layer of research and overall effort, is it really?
Are you not already on top of the news that affects the people within the industries you already serve?
Are you not a part of online groups that engage in conversation related to these hot topics?
Do you not read periodicals that offer in depth analysis of industry trends and shifts in those markets?
Well, if you’re not doing these things already, then now would be a good time to start :)
By dedicating a portion of your monthly content to sharing your takes on the current conversations happening in the industries in which you serve, it helps separate you from other experts in your space.
Rather than simply repurposing that podcast on which you appeared 3 years ago, you’re applying your expertise to current, relative, real-world challenges as they’re developing.
And that type of presence creates a more valuable perception in the eyes of those who need your help.
The more valuable you are, the more in demand your help will be.
It’s that simple.
