…consistency is key

One of the ways to illustrate your authority, as well as create connection and trust with your audience is by creating a consistent look to your entire online presence.

That means that whatever images you choose to share on your site, social platforms and other promotional avenues, they all need to look and feel the same.

That includes in person photos, virtual photography and smartphone self portraits.

If you invest in a professional lifestyle portrait session and then post wonky screen captures of your virtual, or haphazard self portraits, that creates a messy and incongruent online presence. If it’s messy and incongruent, it will turn away some folks who otherwise might be interested in learning more about you.

This is why I offer clients a suite of options with regard to the types of photos I capture for their image content portfolios - to maintain that look across all of their marketing assets.

I spoke at length about this with Sher Downing on her EDTECH SPEAKS podcast recently.

During our conversation, we also chatted about:

  • The importance of virtual photography

  • Why people avoid professional photo sessions

  • How did I get my start with photography

  • The constantly evolving process of serving your audience
