Enough with the waiting game, folks!

You realize you need branded lifestyle portraits to promote yourself, but not sure how to use them...

...should you wait until you figure out a strategy?

Here’s why one of my clients didn’t.

Recently, I was hired by entrepreneur and copywriter, Stefan, to fly out to his home in Las Vegas to conduct a branded lifestyle portrait session.

He had been following my work for over a year after we were introduced through a mutual connection, and was champing at the bit to schedule a session from the moment we connected.

Then, life got in the way.

Time had past and once we reconnected on social, we immediately set up plans to get this portrait session on the calendar.

When I got on the phone with him for his pre-session strategy call, the first words out of his mouth were that he needed new headshots, but beyond that, he wasn’t sure how he was going to use the lifestyle portraits, but, he knew he needed them and wanted them now to figure it out.

He is not the first person who has come to me with that approach going into a session.

On several occasions, I’ve worked with other speakers, authors and coaches, and they’ve expressed similar interest in working with me without the plan fully in place.

In each case, they had a complete understanding of WHY they needed the images - to help promote their services, illustrate their expertise, redo their websites, build a consistent, online presence, etc. - but, the specifics and the day-to-day implementation on social media wasn’t figured out just yet.

The common denominator between all of them was this:

They all knew who they were, who they served and why they do what they do.

If you have the foundation figured out, that’s really all we need to figure out the types of lifestyle portraiture that will work best to help promote you and your business.

Everything else is moving parts, really.

Why?

Despite the fact that your services, products and business goals constantly evolve and develop over time, your why remains the same.

And that’s why these photos for Stefan have long-standing versatility:

Do you see the long-standing versatility in images like these regardless of whatever twists and turns you take with your business? They represent foundational pillars in his life - leading his team, working with technology, thinking to himself, reading and family. As a result, you could bank image content like this and leverage it in a wide variety of ways.
