The year in panoramas
You know, that camera in your pocket can do some cool stuff…
…cool stuff like shooting fun panoramas wherever you are.
This year has, by far, been my most travel heavy year to date as a business owner.
I’ve had the fortune of being in a variety of places in this country - and Canada - and had an opportunity to see and experience a lot of variety.
Everything from farm animals to professional sports stadiums, and everything in between.
Early on in the year, I decided that when I land in a new place, my goal was to capture an image of the spaces and places in which I visited and worked, so that I would lock in those memories for my future years when my memory starts to shit the bed…
Truth is, that time is already happening - but I choose to forget about that point of fact :)
Regardless of my need for massive doses of Ginkgo Biloba, when I have the time to do it, I’ll take out my IPhone, walk around to find an interesting vista, work out the composition beforehand, turn on the Panorama function, and give it a couple spins to see which shot comes out better.
It’s been a fun exercise to do, and it’s a nice departure from lugging around my real camera all the time to get the shot.
As I was scrolling through my phone images recently, I noticed I took quite a few while away on work work assignments.
Apparently, I also took a bunch - that I forgot about, of course - while home in the city, as well.
It was cool scrolling through and checking them out - and I figured that I’d share them with you…
So, here we go:
Fun, right?
I encourage all of you to be a little bit more adventurous with your smartphone camera the next time you travel for work.
Experiment and play - it’s an interesting way to capture the moment of you being in a different space and place than home.
It’s also eye-catching photos that will inspire your audience to engage the photo - which is not a bad byproduct of the effort put in to create it :)
