Exactly what to shoot... :)

It’s magical to be part of something that’s bigger than yourself.

For the past 4+ years, I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with Phil Jones, who is brilliant, generous, and despite the fact that he likes to bust my chops from time-to-time, is an advocate, mentor and friend.

One of the benefits of working with him is that I get to be a fly on the wall during his Exactly What To Say Certification events.

Since I’m there to capture moments, I don’t talk - I listen.

Listening to the interactions and discussions inspires me to be better.

Be better at how I serve my people.

Be better at how I connect with others through conversation.

Be better at how I live my life.

Not just because of Phil or the magic words, but also because of the people around the table.

Before the day’s session starts, during breaks, lunch and dinner, I’m able to talk to participants and have genuine, valuable, human being conversations without the camera in my hand.

The entire experience results in me becoming a better person the day after it’s over than the day before it started.

Not bad, right?

This added emotional investment motivates me to really bring the heat when I’m in the room photographing everything going on in there.

And speaking of photos, the following are just a sampling of what was taken during the most recent certified event in NYC.

At the end of the day, I’m grateful to be useful and contribute to this overall experience in the way that I can…

It’s a magical place to be :)
