"Does it lose it's excitement?"

I recently shot a multi-day event - a recurring event I’ve covered many times.

After delivering the first day of photos, the event hosts shared their appreciation for the artistry and moments captured in the portfolio the next morning.

They graciously added that this level of quality is delivered on repeat, event after event.

Always a great way to start the day, 🙂

But then, an interesting question was posed to me:

Does shooting this same event, same location, time after time, get boring or rote for me?

The answer? No way.

You see, the way in which I serve the Experts is ALWAYS on repeat.

Whether it’s a portrait session, keynote, workshop, mastermind or meeting, I approach each of them with the same, well-worn and proven process.

Regardless of the event, my objective is always the same:

Capture as much visual variety as possible. Period.

The key difference?

The PEOPLE in front of the camera.

Despite the fact that this multi-day event is held in the same space and the content delivered is exactly the same, the participants change.

Their facial expressions, body language, movement throughout the space, posture adjustments while sitting in their chairs, and their reactions to the content happening in that room are all unique to them.

None of it is predictable, but all of it creates opportunities for unique, genuine and compelling image content for my client. That means I always have to be focused and ready.

When you compound these ever-changing variables by the amount of people in the room, that makes for a VERY busy day.

Long story short, I have ZERO time on the clock to get bored!

Regardless of the space or place, the goal is always to create an image portfolio that provides potential participants a fly-on-the-wall experience of what it’s like to be in that room and going through the transformation offered by the expert delivering the training.

Capturing these types of photos is never paint-by-numbers- it’s always an artisanal approach.

And that’s what selfishly makes it magical for me to do it :)
