A magical way to add value to your mastermind event

Want to know a magical way to add value to your mastermind event?

Throw in a mini-portrait session as the icing on the cake!

As I have mentioned in the past, there’s no doubt that on-site mastermind events are an extremely valuable way to fast-track the growth of your business, especially when the facilitators are world-class experts.

While that may be more than enough for most attendees in terms of a value proposition with respect to their financial investment, some people are looking for the pot to be a little sweeter before they pull the trigger.

While there are myriad ways in which you, as a mastermind organizer, can achieve this goal, one of the easiest ways is to provide your attendees with a thank you, of sorts, with fresh image content they can use right away.

Now, for many business meetings - from large conferences to mastermind groups - the organizers will have a photographer on standby to capture a headshot for each person in the room.

And while headshots are an extremely important piece to your online presence, it’s only a small piece in the grand scheme.

The headshot represents the “yes” in the “yes, and…” equation.

The “...and” would manifest itself as a mini-lifestyle portrait session; photos of you working on your computer, phone, jotting notes down with a pen and paper, reading a book, or collecting your thoughts while looking out a window.

With the additional lifestyle portraits, that' offers a lot of creative latitude

These types of photos can be used not just for profile pictures on your social accounts, but also image assets for your website, blog and other key areas throughout your online presence.

For many years, I was under the impression that a mini-session - 10-15 minutes total - wouldn’t be enough time to create enough value for the client. I just felt it was too short a time to capture anything of substance.

And then, my client, Phil Jones challenged me to photograph his mastermind attendees in mini-lifestyle sessions in under 15 minutes apiece!

How could I say no to the challenge, right?

When I flew to Toronto to cover the Exactly Perfect mastermind group that Phil and Clay Hebert co-facilitate, I suspended my disbelief, put on my thinking cap and figured out how the hell to squeeze the most value out of these mini-portrait sessions.

Much to my surprise, turns out that you can actually get a lot out of 15 minutes if you have a game plan in mind and can move your ass quickly from one lifestyle scenario to another!

Despite the fact that I was in chilly Canada, I was sweating my ass off throughout these mini-sessions! The concept of moving with a sense of urgency was at the forefront of my mind the entire time.

But, regardless of the frenetic pace, each person was extremely appreciative of the images and the effort that went into creating them.

They also shared their appreciation with Phil and Clay, which ultimately, was a huge goal of mine for these sessions in the first place.

I wanted to position my work in a way that allowed the facilitators to shine because these images directly reflected a piece of the value offered by the Exactly Perfect experience.

Keep this in mind the next time that you’re organizing your own mastermind event.

Hire a photographer who is able to offer this kind of value in a short amount of time.

Leverage this immense value add in your marketing and promotional materials for the event as a way to sweeten the deal for those on the fence.

It will help attract more eyeballs to the value that you already offer those you serve, :)
