Put your merch front and center

Do you sell merchandise as a part of your business?

Here’s one way that you can sell it to your audience.

One popular way that many experts create greater awareness about their business, brand and services is through the creation of customized merchandise.

Over the course of the past 4 years, I’ve noticed more and more clients offer clothing and other types of swag with a word, sentence or slogan printed on it that ties back to their business in some way, shape or form.

By offering a valuable reminder while also serving a practical function, this merchandise kills two birds with one stone.

Recently, I conducted a merch photo session for one of my clients, Phil M Jones.

He created an entire line of merchandise based off of a mantra that’s made a significant impact in his life:

Change Your Words, Change Your World.

While he already had mockup photos provided by the website in which he partnered on this venture, my goal was to create a series of lifestyle photos that highlighted the merchandise in real life scenarios.

After working directly with his marketing team on selecting some of the merch to shoot, I then sketched out a shot sheet that included shooting the products alone, as well as with a couple models to wear the clothing and engage the other products in an indoor environment, as well as out and about in NYC.

Here are some of the shots that we created:

It’s one thing to photograph these products on a plain white background.

It’s quite another to shoot them in real environments. The words simply pop off the material in which it’s printed better when photographed in real life.

In addition, these lifestyle photos also offer potential customers an opportunity to visualize themselves wearing the clothing and engaging the products - clearly an important byproduct of the photos!

Where will these photos live?

In addition to being used on his website’s merch landing page, Phil’s team is also leveraging these photos on social media to help promote his brand overall.

Do you have a merchandise line that hasn’t seen the light on day on social in a while and is collecting dust?

Interested in drumming up interest?

I’m currently offering a Merch Line Photo Session that is fully customized to the products and items you have for sale.

But I only have 3 slots available for this in my calendar.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Merch Line Photo Session, set a time to chat with me and I can talk you through it.

But act now as this offer will be gone before you know it :)
