by giving them the visual assets they need to see.
The other day, I received an email from a colleague and speaker client who checked in with me about how things were going in his life, you know, despite the world being upside down and everything.
He mentioned to me that the speaker bureaus that he’s affiliated with are in flux and scrambling while trying to make sense of this traditional-to-virtual event transition.
I clearly wasn’t surprised by this - I mean, we’re all in the same rickety, shitty boat, for now, so I can totally relate.
As a result, he said that bureaus are looking for speakers who already have virtual experience because the big stage stuff doesn’t really matter - for now.
They want to know that the prospective speakers have done it before; that they understand the importance of maintaining eye contact, create an interactive experience, as well as translate their magical talking point into something that resonates for the audience at home viewing this on a screen.
They need to see proof that they can do it.
He then followed up by asking me my availability for one of his upcoming webinars, :)
Make the jobs of those whose purpose is to get you speaking/training work easier by giving them a preview of what you look like sharing your magical expertise on a screen through recorded ZOOM video clips and image content captured live during your virtual presentations.
It’s a transition that none of us planned on making, but we have to roll with it in order to keep ourselves doing the thing we love to do - for now.
And I’m here to help.
I’ve done my own transitioning, too.
Rather than shoot branded lifestyle portraits and event coverage in rooms filled to the brim with people, I’m translating my passion for capturing magical moments to virtual presentations.
I’ve already covered a slew of presentation types - keynotes, workshops, webinars, as well as consultation calls with organizational teams.
If it’s on the screen, I’ll shoot it for you, :)
