How to Handle Hundreds of Branding Photos Without Losing Your Mind!

You just wrapped up your branding session, and now, you’ve got hundreds of photos staring back at you. Overwhelming? Yeah absolutely.

Most experts don’t know what to do with all these images, so they end up doing one of two things:

  1. Using the same 3 photos on repeat until they wear thin.

  2. Freezing up and using none of them because sorting through them feels like a full-time job.

Neither of those scenarios are good, so, here’s a simple, repeatable system to make your branding photos work for you, not against you.

Step 1: Give Yourself a Tour

Before you do anything, scroll through your album. Don’t pick favorites yet—just get familiar with what you’ve got. Notice the expressions, activities captured and angles.

Step 2: Create Two Favorites Folders

Sort based on what stands out to you. Create two folders to keep things organized:

  • Promotional Photos – These are your looking-into-the-camera shots. The ones you’ll use for media kits, websites, social profiles, and other marketing materials.

  • Candid Lifestyle Images – These are behind-the-scenes shots that capture you thinking, working with clients and by yourself. They’re ideal for social media, blog posts, and email marketing.

Step 3: Use a "First Stop" System

The next time you need a photo, go straight to your favorites folders first. This prevents you from endlessly scrolling through your entire album every time you post something. Bonus move: Label the ones you’ve already used so you’re not overdoing the same images across platforms.

Step 4: Don’t Delete Anything!

I know you want to, but resist the urge to delete any photos. Your least favorite shots today might be exactly what you need 6 months from now. Revisit your library every few months and rotate in fresh images to keep your content looking dynamic and consistent.

Branding photos are a goldmine when used strategically. But if you let them sit on your hard drive doing nothing, you’re missing out on enhancing your visual storytelling.
